The Governor of Lagos State Mr Akinwumi Ambode has made major shake-ups in the civil service of Lagos State. The Governor dissolved virtually all the boards of parastatals and agencies. Ms Olayinka Fashola, a sister to the former Governor of the state, Babatunde Fashola did not survive this shake-up. She was sacked alongside 75 other heads of parastatals and agencies in the state.
According to Sahara Reporters, Ms Fashola was the General Manager, Lagos State Residence Registration Agency, LASRRA. Other heads that were affected include; Ola Oresanya, General Manager, Lagos State Waste Management Agency, LAWMA; Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency; Bolajoko Fashola, Executive Chairman, Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and Babatunde Edu, Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA.
This development is contained in a statement issued by the office of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Tunji Bello. The statement said Ambode had approved the dissolution of all boards of parastatals and agencies of government with immediate effects. The only exceptions to this dissolution are the Civil Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission and the State Independent Electoral Commission.
