A baby girl born in India with a ‘trunk-like’
protrusion between her eyes is being worshipped by locals who believe she is the reincarnation of the Hindu god Ganesha.
The girl, who has yet to be named, was born
Thursday in a village in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, in the country’s north.
The news that there is a ‘divine’ child in the
village has spread, bringing many visitors who have nicknamed her ‘Lord Ganpatni’ meaning ‘Ganesha’s wife’.

Baby With A 'trunk-like' Protrusion
Bangladesh Tree Man
Sexagenarian Bangladeshi man spends years
living in tree
It looks like a bird's nest from far away, but the
truth of the matter is somewhat more remarkable,
if not a little bit odd.
Passersby, if they look carefully, will see that it is
in fact a man and not a bird dwelling inside the
nest in the tree besides a busy footpath in
Bangladesh's capital city Dhaka.
Local residents say the man has spent about
three years living in the small tree house.
The sexagenarian, who does not talk at all to the
local residents including the street vendors under
the tree, passes most of the time in the tree
house beside a road in front of the Bangladesh
Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association
building in Dhaka's commercial Karwan Bazaar
area.
Street vendors under the tree and the surrounding
area say they don't even know the tree man's
name. He is something of a mystery to the local
folk.
"Though many call him pagla (mad) actually I
have never seen him behave abnormally," said the
tea seller.
Locals say the peculiar man stays in his tree
house even when its raining or the weather is
otherwise inclement. "Once we told him that we'll
give him a nice place to stay, but he refused,"
said a vendor. (by Naim-Ul-Karim)

Too Much Drama....On Election. Hmmmm
The PDP party agent at the Collation center in Abuja, Elder Godswill Orubebe is currently staging a protest at the INEC result collation center alleging that Prof Jega has been compromised. According to him, Professor Jega has been selective, partial and is tribalistic. He said APC had written a letter to INEC concerning an alleged rigging in Rivers state which he immediately sent a committee to investigate the issue but that when PDP wrote protest letters on the elections in Katsina, Kaduna and Jigawa, Jega did not send anyone to attend to their protest.
Orubebe, who is a former Minister of Niger Delta, is now calling for Jega to stop result collation. He sat on stage and refused to allow the result announcement to continue...
A Look At The Scotish New Year Celebration
What is Hogmanay?
For most of the world December 31 is New Year’s Eve, but in Scotland it’s something much more important: Hogmanay.
So what is it, and why does it make Aberdonians set fire to stuff?
Hogmanay is a very big deal in Scotland. It’s the biggest day in the festive calendar, a celebration that makes Christmas Day seem very small indeed – and it’s like nothing else on Earth.
What is Hogmanay?
Hogmanay is what the Scots call their New
Year’s Eve celebrations.
The origins of the word are unclear – some say it’s a corruption of the Greek words for ‘holy month’, others that it’s of French origin – but the celebrations themselves
go back centuries.
Where did Hogmanay come from?
Hogmanay’s origins are viking. Norse invaders celebrated the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, with wild parties in late December.
Those parties began to incorporate elements from the Gaelic Samhain winter festival, which celebrates the beginning of winter, and Yule, whose celebrations were known as ‘daft days’ inScotland.
Like many annual celebrations, the end result is a mix of its various influences.
Why is it such a big deal?
Because until very recently, Scots didn’t do
Christmas. The party-loving Protestant
Reformation effectively banned Christmas for 400 years, and Christmas Day didn’t even become a public holiday in Scotland until 1958 and Boxing Day didn’t become a holiday until 1974.
So while the rest of the world celebrated
Christmas, Scots toiled. Their family get-
togethers happened at Hogmanay instead.
How is it different from other New Year’s Eve celebrations?
It’s longer. Hogmanay starts on New Year’s Eve but continues throughout New Year’s Day and into January 2, which is a public holiday inScotland.
While the rest of the UK is generally getting back to work on the 2nd, Scotland looks like that bit at the beginning of 28 Days Later when the streets are deserted.
How do Scots celebrate Hogmanay?
Most Scots party, but they also observe a
number.of traditions. The most popular one is first-footing, where the first person to enter the house after midnight ideally a tall, dark man – brings gifts such as food or coal.
First-footing is supposed to affect
the household’s fortunes for the coming year, so if your first visitor is a small blonde woman you’re stuffed!
Other traditions include cleaning the house before Hogmanay arrives, watching terrible TV programmes before the bells chime and singing Robert Burns’ poem, Auld Lang Syne.
That singing is accompanied by a mass linking of arms, and those arms are supposed to then cross each singer’s chest for the final verse. While most people know the first verse, the lusty singing tends to tail off in the second as people realise
they don’t know most of the words.
WHAT AUTOPSY IS ALL ABOUT
Autopsy is the examination of a cadaver to
determine or confirm the cause of death . Also called necropsy or postmortem.
Autopsies are performed for either legal or
medical purposes. For example, a forensic
autopsy is carried out when the cause of death may be a criminal matter, while a clinical or academic autopsy is performed
to find the medical cause of death and is used in cases of unknown or uncertain death, or for research purposes.
Autopsies can be further classified into cases where external examination suffices, and those where the body is dissected and internal examination is conducted.
Permission from next of kin may be required for internal autopsy in some cases. Once an internal autopsy is complete the body is reconstituted by sewing it back together.
Purpose
The principal aim of an autopsy is to determine the cause of death, the state of health of the person before he or she died, and whether any medical diagnosis and treatment before death was appropriate.
In most Western countries the number of
autopsies performed in hospitals has been
decreasing every year since 1955. Critics,
including pathologist and former JAMA editor George Lundberg , have charged that the reduction in autopsies is negatively affecting the care delivered in hospitals, because when mistakes result in death, they are often not investigated and lessons therefore remain unlearned.
When a person has given permission in advance of their death, autopsies may also be carried out for the purposes of teaching or medical research.
An autopsy is frequently performed in cases of sudden death, where a doctor is not able to write a death certificate, or when death is believed to result from an unnatural cause.
These examinations are performed under a legal authority ( Medical Examiner or Coroner or Procurator Fiscal) and do not require the consent of relatives of the deceased.
The most extreme example is the
examination of murder victims, especially when medical examiners are looking for signs of death or the murder method, such as bullet wounds and exit points, signs of
strangulation , or traces of poison.
Some religions including Judaism and Islam usually discourage the performing of autopsies on their adherents. Organizations such as Zaka in Israel and Misaskim in the USA generally guide families how to ensure that an unnecessary autopsy is not made.
Autopsies are used in clinical medicine to identify medical error.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STREET, LANE, CLOSE etc
Ever wondered how types of
roads are determined?
There are many acceptable
definitions for these,
this is just one set, it is highly
likely you have
seen something different.
Different places will have
different rules on whats what or
no rules at all.
There are literally dozens of right
answers to this.
Almost all of these should really
be affixed with "is
usually" but because of how long
this has gotten, It
can't include every exception and
variation.
*A road has no special qualifiers.
It connects point a to point b.
*A street connects buildings
together, usually in a
city, usually east to west,
opposite of avenue.
*An avenue runs north south.
Avenues and streets
may be used interchangeably
for directions,
usually has median
*.A boulevard is a street with
trees down the
middle or on both sides
*.A lane is a narrow street usually
lacking a median.
*A drive is a private, winding
road
*A way is a small out of the way
road
*A court usually ends in a cul de
sac or similar
little loop
*A plaza or square is usually a
wide open space,
but in modern definitons, one of
the above
probably fits better for a plaza as
a road.
*A terrace is a raised flat area
around a building.
When used for a road it probably
better fits one of
the above.
*A close is similar to a court, a
short road serving
a few houses, may have cul de
sac
*A run is usually located near a
stream or other
small body of water
*A place is similar to a court, or
close, usually a
short skinny dead end road, with
or without cul de
sac, sometimes p shaped
*A bay is a small road where
both ends link to the
same connecting road
*A crescentis a windy s like
shape, or just a
crescent shape, for the record,
above definition of
bay was also given for crescent
*A trail is usually in or near a
wooded area
*A highway is a major public
road, usually
connecting multiple cities
*A motorway is similar to a
highway, with the term
more common. No stopping, no
pedestrian or
animal traffic allowed
*An interstate is a highway
system connecting
usually connecting multiple
states, although some
exist with no connections
*A turnpike is part of a highway,
and usully has a
toll, often located close to a city
or commercial are.
*A freeway is part of a highway
with 2 or more
lanes on each side, no tolls,
sometimes
termed expressway, no
intersections or cross
streets.
*A parkway is a major public
road, usually
decorated, sometimes part of a
highway, has traffic
lights.
*A causeway combines roads
and bridges, usually
to cross a body of water
*Circuit and speedway are used
interchangeably ,
usually refers to a racing course,
practically
probably something above.
*As the name implies, garden is
usually a well
decorated small road, but
probably better fits an
above
*A view is usually on a raised
area of land, a hill
or something similar.
*A byway is a minor road, usually
a bit out of the
way and not following main
roads.
*A cove is a narrow road, can be
sheltered, usually
near a larger body of water or
mountains
*A row is a street with a
continuous line of close
together houses on one or both
sides, usually
serving a specific function like a
frat
*A beltway is a highway
surrounding an urban
are.
*A quay is a concrete platform
running along water
*A crossing is where two roads
meet
*An alley is narrow path or road
between buildings,
sometimes connects streets, not
always drive able.
*A point is usually dead ends at a
hill.
*A grove is thickly sheltered by
trees.
*A driveway almost always
private, short, leading
to a single residence or a few
related ones.
*A roundabout or traffic
circle, circle around a traffic
island with multiple connecting
routes, a
roundabout is usually smaller,
with less room for
crossing and passing, and safer.
*These aren't hard and fast rules.
Most cities and
such redefine them their own
way about what road
can be called what.
MARRIAGE: Traditional Marriage In Ebiraland (Nigeria)
Ebira people, mostly living along
the River Benue plain down and
beyond the River Niger, are a
tribe found in Kogi state in Okene,
Okehi, Adavi and Ajaokuta local
government areas and in some
parts of Nassarawa and Edo
states.
The word Ebira means behaviour
when translated literally with
ethics and hospitality as
compliments. The unique features
of the Ebira culture with its ethnic
aestheticism, are appreciated
most in the event of traditional
marriages.
Victoria Mayaki sheds more light
on this. When a man sees a lady
he intends to marry, he discusses
his intentions with her, who, if
interested, tells him to bring his
people to express his intentions
to her parents.
In respect to the Ebira tradition,
the man does not walk to the
parents of the woman to disclose
his intentions; his parents or
elders mostly the women do this
by going to the lady’s parents to
introduce themselves and also to
inform them of their reason for
coming to the house.
After this is done, the parents of
the lady then conduct a thorough
investigation on the upbringing,
background, family history and so
on, of the intending groom to
unravel any history of madness,
terminal diseases or criminality in
the man’s family. This is with a
view to deciding whether or not
to give their daughter’s hand in
marriage to a family with a
tainted reputation in the society.
After the research, if their
findings are appreciable, an
approval is given to the man to
visit the bride-to- be from time to
time to further get to know
themselves properly.
A date is later picked for the
formal introduction of both
families and this is called “Ise
Ewere” which literally means
what has been in secret is now in
the open. During the celebration,
there is usually the presentation
of gift items made by the family of
the groom to the family of the
bride.
The gift items usually include;
about 99 tubers of yam, dried fish
or bush meat, 10 liters of palm oil,
a bag of salt, assorted wines and
kola nut. The groom may also
decide to present two wrappers
to his would-be bride but this is
optional.
On the day of introduction, it is
not necessary that the man
attends the occasion as his family
members do the necessary things
on his behalf. The bride’s family in
turn, entertains the groom’s with
food and drinks. The families
interact with one another and
formally introduce every member
of both families.
After this is done, the date for
traditional marriage is then fixed.
The tubers of yam and other
items brought are distributed to
neighbours and members of the
extended family no matter how
small. Much significance is given
to this to ask for their prayers for
a happy marriage as well as to
ensure the acknowledgement of
the community that the lady now
has someone she intends to get
married to.
The amount to be collected as
bride price is also agreed upon by
the parents of the bride and it
depends to a large extent, on the
financial strength of the man.
Apart from the bride price, there
are other things like “ozemeiyi”
that is “I am attracted to her”
which a certain amount of money
is attached to, and “otanuvogei”
that is “joining hands together”.
There is also “idoza” that is
“farming price” paid to the
bride’s family because Ebira
people are predominantly
farmers. In the olden days when
every young man had to farm, the
groom and his friends appoint a
day to farm for the father of the
bride but these days because
most young men don’t farm any
longer, they pay money instead.
On the day of the traditional
marriage, women in the man’s
family are seen singing and
dancing carrying tubers of yams
on their heads to the lady’s
house. The singing and dancing
continues at their arrival at the
lady’s house where the ceremony
kicks off. Other items to be taken
are cans of palm oil, groundnut
oil, dried fish, some clothing
materials in some boxes,
jewelries and other things for
adornment of the lady.
The ceremony is usually colorful
with display of dances by maiden
groups mostly the bride’s friends
and by women groups. A
religious leader and the parents
of the couple offer prayers for
them to bless their marriage and
a certificate is thereafter given to
the couple by the religious leader
to acknowledge their marriage.
The lady is thereafter, escorted by
her friends and other women to
her husband’s house with her
belongings.

FINALLY, US HALTS OIL IMPORT FROM NIGERIA
The United States, hitherto Nigeria’s largest crude oil importer, has finally stopped the importation of Nigerian light sweet crude.
The volume of Nigeria’s crude exports to US refineries had earlier witnessed drastic reduction and “on-and-off supplies” in the last
one year as explorations of shale oil in the US yield more fruits.
But the Federal Government officially confirmed at the weekend that Washington has stopped buying oil from Nigeria. The Nigerian
National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), operator of government’s stake in oil business, described this crisis, which also affects
other African exporters of sweet crude, as a major “market disruption.”
Group Managing Director (GMD) of the NNPC, Dr. Joseph Dahwa, confirmed the market disruption, saying that his corporation is
already planning to realign crude lifting contracts with contractors to cushion the effect of the crude imports halts. The US hitherto
imported over one million barrels of crude daily from Nigeria in the last 24 months.
The realignment of crude lifting contracts is, according to Dahwa, a new strategy to capture markets for Nigeria’s crude oil. This,
he said in a speech obtained from the NNPC’s website, would include direct sales to refineries and longer term crude sales
contracts beyond the current one year.
“Exports of Nigerian light sweet crude to the US and indeed all African light sweet crude to the US have now ceased. This market
disruption has led to diversion of Nigerian and other African producers’ crude to Europe and Asia. “A strategic repositioning of the
destination of Nigeria’s crude trade requires more than a change of destination, but must include direct sales of crude to refineries
in new markets and longer term crude sale contracts beyond the current one year term,” he stated.
According to him, other oil producers with similar challenges have initiated and engaged these strategies to capture more markets
for their crude oil. Dawha added that Nigeria’s crude oil, with its competitive advantage in most of such destination markets, would
have to move in as well.
“This is the market capture strategy that gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have long adopted and this includes
ownership of refineries in destination countries to ensure access to these markets. “Lately, Angola has adopted this strategy with
long-term crude contracts to Indonesia and India.
Nigerian crude is known to have competitive advantage in many of these destination markets,” he said. Usually, traders lift crude oil
according to the terms of contractual agreements applicable to all traders, among others on Free on Board (FOB) basis and
proceeds paid directly into designated Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) crude oil sales accounts.
These lifters/traders are engaged on annual term contract basis. Other strategies to be adopted by the NNPC to survive the
disruptions, according to Dahwa, include upstream cost optimization to ensure lower production cost per barrel and prioritization of
major projects in view of the low oil and gas prices.

Muslims Angry At Texas Mayor For Scrapping Sharia Law In The State.
This radical group of Muslims is not pleased with
the Mayor of Irving, Texas after she put the end
to America’s first “Sharia Court.” Mayor Beth Van
Duyne has accused mosque leaders of creating
separate laws for Muslims, which is why the city
voted to stop these supposedly “voluntary”
tribunals from operating.
In a very close 5-4 vote, the city of Irving ruled to
back the Texas state bill banning foreign law
from the state. The bill doesn’t mention Sharia or
any religion, but it’s a huge defeat for Sharia
supporters, as such courts are in violation of the
U.S. Constitution.
All four of the “voluntary” court’s lawyers
were unlicensed in the state of Texas, a third
degree felony. Mayor Beth Van Duyne
received several phone calls on the matter. It
seems that the Islamic Tribunal not only
was unlicensed, but they failed to notify the
city of their illegal court being operated in
city limits. She promised to get to the
bottom of it, and she did.
By their own website’s admission, if U.S.
law conflicts with Sharia law, “we follow
Sharia law.” It also openly admitted
separate rules for men and women in their
proceedings, discriminating and humiliating
women which is against the U.S.
Constitution. The Islamic Tribunal also
openly declared that they hope [this] will “set
a precedence that will be emulated and
duplicated throughout the country.”
And while Muslims filled the city council hearing to voice their opposition, the Mayor shot back:
“This bill does not reference Shariah, Islam
or even religion. It has nothing to do with
preventing any tribunal,” Van Duyne told the
crowd. “Why anyone would feel this is hatred
or bigotry is absolutely beyond me.”
APC Puts Nigeria On Red alert over Election Manipulation Plans.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alerted Nigerians and the international community to ongoing plans by the PDP-led Jonathan Administration to tamper with the results of Saturday’s elections and circumvent the people’s will.
”The information that we have received since we issued our last statement is to the effect that the Administration is holding clandestine meetings with security chiefs and others with the sole aim of altering or scuttling the results, which they consider to be highly embarrassing and unpalatable, using malleable RECs,” the party said in a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
It warned that nothing but the authentic results held by the party agents and all other stakeholders will be acceptable to the party, and that whoever is planning to do otherwise should weigh its implication on the survival of the nation’s democracy.
APC said the moves to manipulate the results are also being replicated in some of the states, including Bauchi where everything is being done to reverse the outcome, and Imo, where many aides of the Governor are being brutalized and arrested in hordes.
”We know they are stunned dizzy by the crushing defeat which has been inflicted on them across the nation, going by the results in the hands of our agents. We know they have activated their paid media channels to seek to confuse Nigerians by making outlandish claims that their presidential candidate is leading in the elections. We know they are counting on malleable RECs to thwart the will of the people, and we know they have no qualms about plunging the nation into crisis just because of narrow interests.
”This is why we are putting on red alert all the good people of Nigeria who trooped out in large numbers, defying the sun and the rain and against all odds, to vote for change. We are also by this statement calling on the international community to urgently prevail on the Nigerian authorities not to tamper with the results of the elections as expressed by Nigerians.
”As we have said many times, we will accept the outcome of the elections if they are free and fair. What we will not accept is the manipulated outcome of the polls,” the party said.

Seven Women Raped In A Deliverance Vigil.
SEVEN ladies who went for night vigil for deliverance in a new generation church, located at 2nd Cemetery Road, Benin-City, were allegedly raped by armed bandits who stormed the church at about 4am on Thursday.
The robbers were said to have earlier raided a building near Ewuotubu community where they robbed some tenants living in four different flats in the compound. It was learnt that two persons, including a police officer, were shot dead while others sustained various degrees of injuries in the process.
What was supposed to be an all-night marathon prayer session , tagged ‘Koboko Night’, meant to cast out demons tormenting some members of the church, turned sour as the masked armed robbers, numbering six, shot sporadically, ordering the members to go back to the church shortly after they said the final prayers to depart the church.
The robbers had, on storming the church premises, rained bullets on the roof and ordered members to lie down. Consequently, they raped the women.
One of the victims, who narrated her ordeal to Sunday Vanguard, said, “Though I was not raped, I was beaten mercilessly when they were asking us to identify the pastor and we refused. After collecting our phones, money and jewelleries, they ordered some of the ladies to undress. They threatened to kill them if they refused and, of course, they removed their clothes and were raped one by one.
“It was actually two churches that they attacked. They raped five women in our church. Later, we found out that they raped two others in a church close to ours. They ransacked the church and collected any cash they found and escaped. It was a horrible sight”.
The raped women are said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital on Ekenwan Road, Benin City.

Is Palm Sunday Biblical?
Palm sunday is the Sunday before Easter, on which Christ's entry into Jerusalem is celebrated in many Christian churches by processions in which branches of palms are carried.
On Palm Sunday Christians celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, the week before his death and resurrection . For many Christian churches, Palm Sunday , often referred to as "Passion Sunday," marks the beginning of Holy Week , which concludes on Easter Sunday.
The Bible reveals that when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds greeted him by waving palm branches and covering his path with palm branches. Immediately following this great time of celebration in the ministry of Jesus, he begins his journey to the cross.
The biblical account of Palm Sunday can be found in Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-44; and John 12:12-19.

INEC Extends Voting Till Sunday .
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended voting during the Presidential and National Elections to Sunday in problem areas
It directed all Resident Electoral Commissioners in the country to conduct election on
Sunday in areas where there were hitches.
It said it has also relocated all the contents on its website to another site following hacking by some elements.
It however said it could not still exactly say what went wrong in Otuoke, Bayelsa State which led to the delay in the accreditation of President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan.
The Chairman of INEC Committee on Information and Voters Education, Mr. Chris Iyimoga, who addressed the press at the Media Centre of the National Collation Centre in Abuja, said with some hitches in some parts of the country, there was no way the Presidential and National Assembly Elections could be concluded today (Saturday) .
He said: “Each REC has been informed to conduct election on Sunday where there are hitches with accreditation or voting. I cannot say exactly the number of states affected but the problems are not in all the states.”
Other National Commissioners at the briefing were Ishmael Igbani; Muhammadu Wali; Engr. Nuru Yakubu; and Gladys Nwafor.
On his part, National Commissioner Igbani said: “No one can really say what went wrong in Otuoke but the machine or the card readers could not capture the fingerprints of the President and the First Lady. Where such a situation, we had to use manual system.”
On the hacking of INEC website, Commissioner Nuru Yakubu said: “We have lifted the contents on our website and relocated to other site.”

I'm Planning A Heinous Act That Will Be Remembered Forever.- Andreas Lubitz
'I'm planning a heinous act that will be remembered forever': Killer pilot's ex-lover claims he said before crash
A former girlfriend of killer pilot Andreas Lubitz claimed the pilot told her once that he's planning an act so heinous his name
would be remembered for ever. The girlfriend said Lubitz was a tormented, erratic man who was a master of hiding his darkest
thoughts and would wake up from nightmares screaming ‘we’re going down’.
The 26-year-old Germanwings stewardess, known only as Maria W, revealed to a German newspaper how Lubitz ominously told her
last year: ‘One day I will do something that will change the whole system, and then all will know my name and remember it.’
Continue...
When she heard about the crash of Germanwings Flight 4U9525 on Tuesday, she remembered Lubitz’s menacing prophecy. ‘I never
knew what he meant, but now it makes sense,’ she told Bild.
Maria told the newspaper that she met Lubitz when the pair flew together across Europe and said they dated for five months last
year, spending 'several nights' in hotels.
She said he was a 'nice and open-minded' man but claimed there was a difference between his professional and his private ego,
with him being 'soft' and needing love when the couple were alone but becoming 'someone else' when they talked about work.
She added to Bild: 'We spoke a lot about work and then he became another person. He became agitated about the circumstances
in which he had to work, too little money, anxiety about his contract and too much pressure.'
His personal problems and erratic behaviour became so severe that the flight attendant decided to call the relationship off after
fearing his increasingly volatile temper.
'During conversations he'd suddenly throw a tantrum and scream at me,' she said. 'I was afraid. He even once locked me in the
bathroom for a long time.'
Despite parting from Lubitz, Maria said previous conversations with him suddenly 'made sense' when she heard about the crash.
She said: ‘When I heard about the crash, there was just a tape playing in my head of what he said, “One day I will do something
that will change the system and everyone will then know my name and remember me”.
‘I did not know what he meant by that at the time, but now it’s clear.’
She said he had 'never really' spoken to her about any illness but had told her he was getting psychiatric treatment.
She added: 'The torn up sick notes make sense now to me and were a clear sign that he did not want to admit that his big dream
of flying as a captain was over.'
Police will want to interview the air stewardess in detail about the pilot’s state of mind, as well as his most recent girlfriend who
he is said to have lived with in a smart flat on the outskirts of Dusseldorf. One report claimed they had been together on and off for
seven years and were engaged and planned to marry next year.
Lubitz had reportedly ordered two new Audis for them just before the tragedy in an apparent desperate last attempt to win her
back. But she appeared to have rejected his offer, as only one car was ever delivered.
It comes amid claims that their relationship broke down because he was secretly gay and was suffering torment over hiding his
homosexuality. One report claimed he was taunted by fellow pilots for previously being a 'trolley dolly' airline steward and dubbed
'Tomato Andy' - a derogatory gay slur - by colleagues.
The startling revelations that Lubitz had long-plotted a spectacular act adds weight to claims the pilot concealed a medical
condition that should have stopped him flying.
It comes after German investigators yesterday revealed the 28-year-old should have been off sick on the day he deliberately
condemned his 149 passengers and crewmates to their deaths in the Alps.
Investigators revealed today that medical sign-off notes were found at Lubitz's home - including at least one that covered the day
of the crash - and Dusseldorf University Hospital confirmed he had been a patient there over the past two months, although it
would not disclose his condition.

Thug Accuses Tinubu Of Neglect At Polling Unit
A former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was embarrassed by a thug, Ise Aye, while Tinubu was doing his
accreditation at polling unit 047 on Kaffi/Sunday Adigun Street, Alausa, Ikeja.
The thug, who had scars on his face and tattoos all over his body, shouted at the governor and accused him of neglecting some of
the youths in the area.
While shouting in Yoruba, he said, “You abandoned us here. The leaders here did not give us money. I know what I have suffered in
the hands of the PDP all because I refused to join them. We remained loyal to the APC because of your late mother (Iya Mogaji)
that lived here.
“Anytime I come here looking for money, they refer me to Bourdillon in Ikoyi but no one allows me to enter your mansion.”
Tinubu, who felt insulted by the outburst, described Ise Aye as an untrained young man lacking in wisdom.
He said, “Do you have any sense at all? Is that how you were trained to talk to elders. Get out of here, you are embarrassing me.”
The young man eventually prostrated for Tinubu.
Tinubu, while addressing journalists at his late mother’s home, said he was impressed with the conduct of the elections so far.
The APC leader admitted that it took a few minutes before the card reader could authenticate his finger print but added that it still
remained the best option.
He distanced himself from text messages purportedly sent to Lagosians by him that they should vote for President Goodluck
Jonathan.
When asked by a reporter why he supported Jonathan instead of Nuhu Ribadu of his party(the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria)
in the 2011 elections, Tinubu said, “You must retract that statement. If not, I will assume that you are working for the PDP.
“I never supported Jonathan in 2011. I can never destroy what I used my hands to build.” -PUNCH

Amaechi Orders Suspension Of Accreditation In Ikwerre Over Non-availability Of Result Sheets
Rivers State Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi few minutes ago ordered the suspension of accreditation of voters in
Ikwerre local government area of the state following the non-availability of result sheets.
Amaechi, who gave the order at his home-town, Ubima, said although all the materials are complete in his polling unit, the fact
that result sheets are not available in other polling units in the entire local government area, remains a source of worry to him.
Sources at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), however said they are making frantic efforts to sort out the
problem.
Meanwhile, security agents have been able to dislodge the youths who attempted to disrupt the exercise in Gokana local
government area of the state.
KERRY WASHINGTON COVERS THE LATEST ISSUE OF THE EDIT
MISS KERRY AKA OLIVIA POPE
The 38-year-old actress is the cover star for the latest issue of The Edit, with the magazine's stunning shoot seeing Kerry put her
body in the spotlight in a series of designer dresses.
In the accompanying interview, the mum of one gushes about her love for Olivia, and how her famous character helped keep news
of her the birth of a first child a secret.
She may go barefoot in the shoot but Kerry tells Aliza Licht in the accompanying interview, that there's one important part of Olivia
Pope's wardrobe that helps her snap into character during filming - her signature heels.
'The biggest thing for me is the shoes. I'll wear Uggs around set, but I can't rehearse a scene in them because I don't feel like
Olivia until I put the shoes on. Shoes define how you walk in the world and how you stand, like: what is your posture in life?' she
points out.
As well as their choice in shoes, the actress adds there's another huge difference between her and her Scandal lead.
'A lot of therapy!' she laughs. 'Not to say that I have it all together, but I think I have a little bit more awareness about my behavior
patterns and I do the work it takes to get out of them.'
She's a huge fan of her own show, and also revealed that the series helped keep the birth of her first child, daughter Isabelle who
was born last April, a secret.
'Every Thursday within three weeks of my (daughter Isabelle's) due date, I loaded up pre-tweets based on the episodes and what I
would want to say,' she explains of preparing for the birth of Isabelle with her husband NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha.
'I tweeted in the very early stages of my labor. I figured that if I went completely silent on social media, then people would know I
was in the hospital!'
QUEEN LATIFAH RECENTLY SOLD HER CASTLE
It was once fit for a queen, but apparently selling her palace ended up being a royal pain.
Queen Latifah recently sold her sprawling nine-acre estate in New Jersey at a loss.
The 45-year-old native of the Garden State ultimately let go of her property for $2.088 million, which falls more than $300K short of
the original asking price.
she currently owns a mansion in Beverly Hills, California it seems she no longer needs the 7,882 square-foot home, surrounded by
equestrian farms and estates.
Its 23 rooms include a great room, gourmet kitchen, library, master bedroom suit, decks off the first and second floor, and an
exercise room with a whirlpool tub.
The outdoor Olympic-size pool is flanked by a tented pavilion
'Many incredible memories have been shared with those closest to me and my family in this home,' Queen Latifah said in a
statement when she listed the mansion last year.
The Chicago star bought the six bedroom, five bathroom home for $2.14 million soon after it was built in 2001, according to
NorthJersey.com.
Now that selling the New Jersey property is over with, she can focus on letting go of another one on the opposite coast as she
recently listed a Los Angeles bungalow.
According to Variety, she co-owns the home with trainer Jeanette Jenkins and is asking for $1.799 million for the three bedroom,
two bathroom property.

READ PRESIDENT JONATHAN’S NATIONAL BROADCAST ON THE 2015 ELECTION
President Jonathan this morning addressed the
nation in a TV broadcast where he called on
everyone to come out en-mass to vote for leaders
of their choice. What he said below...
Dear Compatriots,
1. As we prepare to go to the polls tomorrow, I
have come before you this morning to express my
immense appreciation for the opportunity you
gave me to lead this great nation of ours in the
past four years.
2. I also wish to place on record, once again, my
sincere gratitude for the support you have given
my administration without which the significant
progress we have made in recent years would not
have been possible.
3. In spite of the many challenges we have had to
contend with since 1999, our present democratic
dispensation continues to endure and grow
stronger in keeping with the yearnings and
aspirations of our people.
4. We have all worked very hard to nurture and
strengthen our democratic institutions and
promote the good governance practices which
they were designed to deliver for the better well-
being of our people.
5. I believe I can say without fear of contradiction
that we all clearly cherish the democracy we now
have and will never willingly give it up for any
other form of governance.
6. This much-cherished democracy of ours is
about to be put to the test once again.
7. I urge you all to troop out en-masse to
peacefully perform your civic duty of voting for
leaders of your choice tomorrow.
8. As we do so, let us all - political party leaders,
contestants, party members, party agents,
supporters and ordinary voters alike, be very
conscious of the fact that the eyes of the entire
world are on us.
9. We must therefore comport ourselves in a
manner that will further strengthen our democracy
and consolidate our place in the comity of truly
democratic nations.
10. I made a commitment on assumption of office
to progressively deliver freer, fairer and more
credible elections in our country. In keeping with
that commitment, the Federal Government has
given the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) all necessary support to
ensure that it conducts very successful elections
tomorrow and on April 11.
11. We have all been assured that INEC is fully
ready for the elections. I believe that we can all
trust that they are certainly more ready now than
they may have been before security issues and
other concerns necessitated a re-scheduling of
the dates for the 2015 general elections.
12. As an administration, we welcome the fact
that millions of Nigerians who were yet to receive
their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) as at
February 14, and would therefore have been
unfairly disenfranchised if the polls had gone
ahead on that date, have seized the opportunity
of the re-scheduling to collect their cards and can
now exercise their right to vote tomorrow.
13. We are also glad that our gallant Armed
Forces have successfully stemmed the seizure of
Nigerian territories in the North-East by the
terrorist group, Boko Haram.
14. They have recaptured most of the
communities and territories formerly occupied by
the insurgents, making it possible for thousands
of internally-displaced Nigerians to begin
returning to their homes and communities.
15. I heartily commend the very courageous men
and women of our Armed Forces for the immense
sacrifices which they continue to make in
defending the nation and protecting its citizens.
16. I also thank all Nigerians for keeping faith
with us over the past six weeks.
17. I call on all political parties and politicians in
the country to allow the free, unfettered will of
our people to be expressed without any hindrance
in the coming elections in keeping with the
hallowed principles and tenets of democratic
governance which we all profess.
18. The will of the people freely expressed
through the ballot is the bedrock of all
democracies and ours cannot be an exception.
19. Let us all therefore be prepared, as true
democrats, to graciously accept the outcome of
the elections as the rightful choice of our people
from whom all political powers in our democracy
must emanate.
20. My administration has done its utmost best in
the past four years to deliver on our promise to
positively transform our country.
21. Tomorrow’s election is another very
important milestone as we continue our march
towards the fulfillment of our God-given potential
for greatness.
22. The election offers us another opportunity to
empower leaders of our choice once again, and to
show the world that genuine democracy is alive
and well in our beloved nation.
23. I will like to restate my belief that no political
ambition can justify violence or the shedding of
the blood of our people.
24. I reaffirm once again, my personal
preparedness to ensure fair play during the
elections and to deploy the resources and
institutions of state only in the manner prescribed
by our laws.
25. Let me warn, however, that as President,
Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, I am
under oath to protect the lives of all Nigerians
and the security of our country at all times. I will
never abdicate my responsibilities in that regard.
26. Democracy allows dissent. It encourages
differences and even fervent disagreements. But
elections must never be mistaken for war or an
opportunity to set fellow citizens against each
other and tear our beloved nation apart.
27. Those who may harbor any intentions of
testing our will by unleashing violence during the
elections in order to advance their political
ambitions should think again as all necessary
measures have been put in place to ensure that
any persons who breach the peace or cause
public disorder during or after the elections are
speedily apprehended and summarily dealt with
according to our laws.
28. The nation’s security agencies are also fully
prepared and ready to deal decisively with any
group or persons who attempt to disrupt the
peaceful conduct of the elections or cause any
form of public disorder.
29. Our dear country, Nigeria is the largest
democracy amongst black nations of the world.
We are a nation of great accomplishments, with a
proud history of evolving affinities.
30. Let us go out tomorrow to vote peacefully
and set a fitting example of political maturity for
other emerging democracies to follow.
31. I wish you all and our dear nation, very
peaceful and successful elections.
32. May God Almighty continue to bless the
Federal Republic of Nigeria.
33. I thank you all.
